Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
- "Company" refers to Boss Removals, its employees, and "Us" and "Our" have corresponding meaning.
- "Customer" refers to the person or entity booking the moving and packing services.
- "Goods" means the items being packed, moved, transported, or stored.
- "Services" refers to packing, moving, loading, unloading, transportation, and storage provided by the Company.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 The Company will provide moving or packing services as agreed in the booking confirmation.
2.2 Services are limited to the tasks stated in the quotation/contract. Any additional work will be subject to extra charges.
2.3 If, in the reasonable opinion of our removalists, the work requested poses a safety risk, may cause damage to property, goods, or equipment, or is otherwise unsuitable for completion with the resources available, the Company reserves the right to refuse or cease that part of the service.
3. Fees and Charge for Local Moves
- 3.1 Fees are charged either at an hourly rate (per hour) or as a flat rate for the Services, plus applicable additional charges (e.g. call-out, return cost, depot-to-depot, fuel charges, stairs fees, heavy lifting fees, or special heavy item handling). All such charges will be confirmed with you in writing before the Move begins.
- 3.2 We may require partial upfront payment or payment during the Move. All outstanding fees must be settled immediately upon completion. The Company reserves the right to hold goods in custody until payment is cleared.
- 3.3 If the Customer requires packing materials (e.g. boxes, wrapping, protective covers), these will be charged separately based on the Customer's specific requirements.
- 3.4 If our team finds that certain items need extra effort to move during the risk assessment, additional charges may apply. We will inform you of these charges at that time.
4. Customer Responsibilities
- 4.1 Provide accurate details of the pickup and delivery addresses, goods description, and access conditions (stairs, elevators, restricted entry, etc.).
- 4.2 Ensure proper parking and necessary permits for loading/unloading areas.
- 4.3 Be present (or appoint a representative) during packing, loading, and delivery.
- 4.4 Secure valuables, cash, jewelry, documents, or prohibited items. The Company is not responsible for loss of such items.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- 5.1 Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled move will receive a full refund of any deposit.
- 5.2 Cancellations within 48 hours may result in forfeiture of the deposit.
- 5.3 Rescheduling is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
6. Insurance & Liability
- 6.1 The Company provides Public Liability Insurance with coverage of up to $20 million.
- 6.2 The Company provides Goods in Transit Insurance for protection of goods while being transported.
- 6.3 While the Company takes reasonable care in handling goods, it shall not be liable for: Pre-existing damages, defects, or normal wear-and-tear; Loss or damage due to inadequate packing by the Customer (if self-packed); Delays caused by traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.
- 6.4 The Company does not provide insurance for fragile or delicate items (such as glass, ceramics, electronics, antiques, or similar goods). These are moved entirely at the Customer's risk.
- 6.5 Where goods are packed by the Customer, the Company accepts no liability for loss or damage unless it can be clearly proven that such damage was caused directly by the negligence of our movers.
7. Excluded Items
The Company will not transport hazardous, illegal, perishable, or prohibited items including but not limited to:
- Explosives, flammable materials, corrosives, or toxic substances.
- Cash, jewelry, antiques, or confidential documents.
- Pets or live animals.
9. Delays & Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for delays or failure in performance caused by events beyond its control, including accidents, natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.
10. Access & Property Conditions
- 10.1 The Customer must ensure safe and reasonable access to both pickup and delivery locations.
- 10.2 The Company is not responsible for damage caused to driveways, pathways, lawns, or internal areas where access is unusually tight, steep, or unsuitable for heavy vehicles or equipment.
- 10.3 The Customer must notify the Company of any building restrictions, lifts, time limits, or access issues in advance.
11. Heavy & Special Items
- 11.1 Items over 80 kg or requiring special handling (such as pianos, pool tables, safes, or large appliances) may incur additional charges.
- 11.2 The Company reserves the right to refuse to move items it considers unsafe, too heavy, or beyond its equipment capacity.
12. Customer Packing Responsibilities
- 12.1 All boxes packed by the Customer must be securely sealed and suitable for transport.
- 12.2 Fragile items must be clearly marked as "FRAGILE."
- 12.3 The Company will not be liable for damages to items packed by the Customer unless caused by negligence of movers.
13. Delays & Waiting Time
- 13.1 If the movers are delayed due to access restrictions, the Customer not being present, or waiting for keys/permits, additional charges may apply at the hourly rate.
- 13.2 The Company is not liable for any consequential losses (e.g., hotel costs, missed flights, loss of business) due to delays.
14. Subcontracting
- 14.1 The Company reserves the right to use subcontractors or third-party carriers to complete the Move.
- 14.2 All terms and conditions apply equally to subcontracted services.
15. Customer Indemnity
The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- 15.1.1 Incorrect information provided by the Customer.
- 15.1.2 Failure to secure required permits or parking.
- 15.1.3 Items prohibited or restricted by law.
